"LIGHTING DESIGNS FOR THEMED ENTERTAINMENT"

Harbor Point is an entertainment center located on the waterfront in the old warehouse district in Muskegon, Michigan. Designed by Fugleberg Koch architects, Light Techniques was sub-contracted to provide the lighting design for the facility. The first phase of the entertainment center consists of a renovation to an existing building. The center will house a restaurant, sports bar, night club, and a small retail space. Slated for the second phase will be more restaurant and bar space as well as banquet facilities. Light Techniques provided the lighting design for the restaurant (themed as the control bridge of a space ship), the sports bar (themed as a gaming room on the space ship), and the night-club (themed as a futuristic dance club). Lighting in the restaurant and bar incorporated architectural style fixtures in keeping with the space ship theme, while the dance club was lit with a variety of High End Systems fixtures controlled by an Avolites Azure console. The exterior of the building was also included in Light Techniques' scope and was designed to be lit using Irideon AR500 color changing wash fixtures as well as High End System Cyberlights. |
